LaChaney’s SUMMER ENRICHMENT PROGRAM 2013

“Enriching the Lives of Young People Through Creative Program Opportunities”

Our basic program day runs from 9am - 4pm. Extended Care is offered between 8am - 9am and/or 4pm - 5pm. Campers
bring their own lunch each day in a disposable bag with a box drink for all weeks. We also provide an afternoon snack
and water or beverages during the day. Children need to wear comfortable clothing with their camp t-shirt daily, and will
be instructed otherwise if necessary. Special events are also planned throughout the summer. During camp, weekly
newsletters and notifications will be emailed out to inform parents of camp activities and/or schedule changes if needed.
Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt at the start of camp. Additional t-shirts are available for $16.00.

. This class is guaranteed to improve your typing skills and computer

knowledge. Each student will work on a computer using an online

keyboard curriculum.

Many schools are transitioning into the world of technology, as well as

Ready, Set, LET’S CELEBRATE!

 

LaChaney’s Dance & Music Academy is buzzing with excitement for the upcoming Annual Dance Recital at Plainfield High School, Saturday June 8^th. This is our 10 year anniversary, and our dancers have some exciting pieces in the works! 

 This family-friendly show features dancers of all ages -- something for everyone! This supportive show is one of our favorite traditions, and welcomes dancers of varying levels and styles to the stage to share their passion for the art of dance, under the direction of Mrs. LaShonda Chaney.  

 Get ready for fun costumes, good music, and a downright great time! Grab your tickets and join the celebration!  Feel free to share this information with all of your family, friends, and co-workers, and be prepared for a show you don’t want to miss!

It's a New Year!

Welcome back to our second half of our dance season! We are ready to kick it into second gear and prepare our students for our end of the season performance.

News Alert! Holiday Season 2012!

LaChaney’s Dance & Music Academy would like to welcome all of our returning students as well as new students to an exciting year of dance. We hope everyone is well situated in their classes and are happy with their new dance friends and teachers. This year we would like to heighten the holidays with "Soulful Seasons". Selected classes will be invited to perform. Although all students will not be performing, everyone is invited to attend and join us in our Annual Holiday Celebration.

Parents Night Out

December 22nd  January 19th
        February 16th

 

Time: 6pm-11pm

Utilize our "Parents Night Out" to go on a date, finish up some last minute shopping, or just some alone time to relax without the kids. We will keep them busy with games, arts and crafts, dinner, snacks, drinks and of course a movie. Donations to this event are $20 for students of the dance studio and $25 for all other guest. Please pick-up children promptly at 11pm. Reserve you spot at the front desk, at least one week prior to the event. Our goal is to host a parent’s night out at least once a month, based on participation.

 

 

P.A.C. Bake Sale

Every Saturday the LDMA P.A.C. members will host a bake sale in the lobby with bagels, muffins and donuts to help raise funds for Nationals. We will continue to provide complimentary coffee to all. So instead of stopping at Dunkin Donuts on the way to class, donate your dollar to our P.A.C. members

LDMA SUMMER ENRICHMENT PROGRAM (Full Day Camp)

Our program is designed for students in grades Pre-K through 8th – Boys & Girls!
Our basic program day runs from 9am - 4pm. Extended Care is offered between 8am - 9am and/or 4pm - 5pm. Campers bring their own lunch each day in a disposable bag with a box drink for all weeks. We also provide an afternoon snack and water or beverages during the day. Children need to wear comfortable clothing with their camp t-shirt daily, and will be instructed otherwise if necessary. Special events are also planned throughout the summer. During camp, weekly newsletters and notifications will be emailed out to inform parents of camp activities and/or schedule changes if needed. Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt and a karate uniform at the start of camp upon registering for their initial 3 week session. Additional t-shirts are available for $16.00.

Dreams and Aspirations!!!

The Dreams continued has we traveled to North Carolina for another joyous experience to take on America's Got Talent. We always teach to our students to remain humbled and be grateful for the opportunities that are placed in your path.

They stayed focused on the task and remained excited for this wonderful experience that the local news station captured the moment before they showcased their talent.

It was a productive week last week our first trio took third place at Amateur Night at the Apollo in the Adult Category!

Springfield Avenue Gets a New Dance Studio
An established performance studio, LaChaney's Dance & Music Academy, makes the move from Union to Maplewood.

Students, family, friends and several township officials joined Lashonda Chaney Saturday afternoon at the grand opening of LaChaney’s Dance & Music Academy at 1747 Springfield Avenue.

Previously located on Morris Avenue in Union for the past eight years, Chaney opened her new Maplewood location in early June — filling a very visible vacancy at the former WaMu Bank site.

“We’re a one-stop shop for families,” said Chaney. “Our studio is perfect for parents trying to find something for each of their kids and maybe for themselves. The fact that we offer more than one program is a great thing for families.”

Chaney’s studio offers classes in karate, dance, music, gymnastics and fitness. Also available is the opportunity for youngsters to participate in the LaChaney All Stars competitive cheerleading team. In addition, the studio provides tutoring, aftercare and an after-school program.
