Summer Enrichment Program 2013
July 8th-August 2nd 2013
“Enriching the Lives of Young People Through Creative Program Opportunities”
Our basic program day runs from 9am - 4pm. Extended Care is offered between 8am - 9am and/or 4pm - 5pm. Campers bring their own lunch each day in a disposable bag with a box drink for all weeks. We also provide an afternoon snack and water or beverages during the day. Children need to wear comfortable clothing with their camp t-shirt daily, and will be instructed otherwise if necessary. Special events are also planned throughout the summer. During camp, weekly newsletters and notifications will be emailed out to inform parents of camp activities and/or schedule changes if needed. Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt at the start of camp. Additional t-shirts are available for $16.00.

SUMMER...Is Right Around the Corner!!!!
LDMA SUMMER ENRICHMENT PROGRAM (Full Day Camp)
Our program is designed for students in grades Pre-K through 8th – Boys & Girls!
Our basic program day runs from 9am - 4pm. Extended Care is offered between 8am - 9am and/or 4pm - 5pm. Campers bring their own lunch each day in a disposable bag with a box drink for all weeks. We also provide an afternoon snack and water or beverages during the day. Children need to wear comfortable clothing with their camp t-shirt daily, and will be instructed otherwise if necessary. Dreams and Aspirations!!!
The Dreams continued has we traveled to North Carolina for another joyous experience to take on America's Got Talent. We always teach to our students to remain humbled and be grateful for the opportunities that are placed in your path.
They stayed focused on the task and remained excited for this wonderful experience that the local news station captured the moment before they showcased their talent.

ELEVATION & CONQUERING DREAMS!!!
Dancing is a movement that increases self-esteem, confidence and goals in life. Many do it for the enjoyment, extra hobby, or making it a career. When your mindset is prepared to accept the next phase of dance that involves hard work, preparation and determination anything is possible. We were excited to prepare two teams for an experience of a lifetime for:

NEW SEASON!
It's hard to believe, but the summer is over and classes are back in session. It is so important to incorporate an activity into your child' daily schedule.
Go for quality, not quantity. Your child will benefit most from one or two activities that are fun, reinforce social development, and teach new skills. Too much scheduled time can be stressful, especially for young children, and may make it harder to concentrate on schoolwork. When evaluating extracurricular activities, consider your family schedule and personal energy level. Multiple activities per child may be too much to manage, particularly if the activities have overlapping times, disparate locations, require your attendance, or disrupt the dinner hour.

LaChaney's Dance & Music Academy Goes to Disney (July 2011)
It was an honor for our school to travel from New Jersey to Orlando,Florida for the second time to perform at Walt Disneyworld! We had a supportive group with many members of our Performance Art Company that took to the stage at Downtown Disney!
Our Performance Art Company should be honored and thankful that they had the privilege of performing nine dance pieces at Disney!

NEXT ROUND OF THE APOLLO & GRAND OPENING CELEBRATION
It was a productive week last week our first trio took third place at Amateur Night at the Apollo in the Adult Category!
ALSO WE ARE BLESSED & HONORED TO HAVE MANY ON HAND FOR OUR RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY!

An established performance studio, LaChaney's Dance & Music Academy, makes the move from Union to Maplewood.

Students, family, friends and several township officials joined Lashonda Chaney Saturday afternoon at the grand opening of LaChaney’s Dance & Music Academy at 1747 Springfield Avenue.
Previously located on Morris Avenue in Union for the past eight years, Chaney opened her new Maplewood location in early June — filling a very visible vacancy at the former WaMu Bank site.
“We’re a one-stop shop for families,” said Chaney. “Our studio is perfect for parents trying to find something for each of their kids and maybe for themselves. The fact that we offer more than one program is a great thing for families.”
Chaney’s studio offers classes in karate, dance, music, gymnastics and fitness. Also available is the opportunity for youngsters to participate in the LaChaney All Stars competitive cheerleading team. In addition, the studio provides tutoring, aftercare and an after-school program.

We have Cha'Nel, Tamia, Bayinnah, Tajahnae, Ranelle, Okera, & Brionna performing "Whip My Hair" in the "Stars of Tomorrow" Category & Dominique performing "I Worship You" in the Adult Category!

WE ARE ON THE MOVE! NEW LOCATION!
LaChaney’s Dance & Music Academy, under the Direction of LaShonda Chaney, a former teacher of the Maplewood / South Orange school district is excited to announce that we are calling Maplewood, NJ our new home! We are making the move from Union, NJ where we have been established for the past eight years. We offer all genres from dance, music, karate, gymnastics, after-school tutoring, summer enrichment camps and fitness for all ages. We are extremely excited about our new state of the art facility: Housing 3 large dance studios with viewing windows and floating dance floors, a private music room, a tutorial / computer room, a spacious reception office to help our clients with all of their needs. Parking available on premises, as well as on-street parking.
