Benefits of Dance...











There are numerous benefits to partaking in dance classes ranging from increasing your amount of daily exercise to making new friends with shared interests.Some of the benefits to increasing the amount of exercise you do are; reduced stress levels, improved relaxation, stronger bones and muscles and help to control body weight.The benefit of dance is not only that of increased exercise, but the participation in an art form, which is routed in technique, and giving the opportunity for a creative outlet.


The skills developed in dance can also be valuable transferable skills that can be applied to any career path. The confidence gained through achievements in dance helps to build social skills, increase self esteem and the ability to communicate well in a group. These skills once built up through partaking in dance can lead to a variety of career routes.

News Alert! Holiday Season 2012!



LaChaney’s Dance & Music Academy would like to welcome all of our returning students as well as new students to an exciting year of dance. We hope everyone is well situated in their classes and are happy with their new dance friends and teachers. This year we would like to heighten the holidays with "Soulful Seasons". Selected classes will be invited to perform. Although all students will not be performing, everyone is invited to attend and join us in our Annual Holiday Celebration.



Parents Night Out
December 22nd  January 19th
        February 16th
 
Time: 6pm-11pm


Utilize our "Parents Night Out" to go on a date, finish up some last minute shopping, or just some alone time to relax without the kids. We will keep them busy with games, arts and crafts, dinner, snacks, drinks and of course a movie. Donations to this event are $20 for students of the dance studio and $25 for all other guest. Please pick-up children promptly at 11pm. Reserve you spot at the front desk, at least one week prior to the event. Our goal is to host a parent’s night out at least once a month, based on participation.

 
 
P.A.C. Bake Sale
Every Saturday the LDMA P.A.C. members will host a bake sale in the lobby with bagels, muffins and donuts to help raise funds for Nationals. We will continue to provide complimentary coffee to all. So instead of stopping at Dunkin Donuts on the way to class, donate your dollar to our P.A.C. members

November Events!-Harvest Party & Girls Lock-In!



Our 10th Annual Harvest Party will be on Saturday, November 10th (5:30pm – 7:30pm). Donations to this event are $8 for students of the dance studio and $10 for all other guest. These prices are for children only. It is not mandatory for parents to stay at the party, however, please pick-up children promptly at 7:30PM. It is okay to come in costume. In order to accommodate each guest we ask that you please purchase your Party Pass by Oct. 27th.



LDMA GIRLS LOCK-IN! November 10th:: Girls grab your sleeping bags, and get your pajamas ready for a night of fun and girl talk with the staff of LDMA. We will bond as a dance family and voice our opinions on different issues such as coping with school issues, peer pressure, avoiding gangs, the importance of setting goals, and realizing that all dreams are possible. You must be 9 or older to attend the lock-in. The fee to attend is $20 per person. Sign up at the front desk by Saturday, October 27th
